describe

GX3904 is an 8-port cPCI asynchronous communication interface board that supports (4) RS232 and (4) RS422 signal levels. Four RS232 ports provide a complete set of data and modem control cables, which can be used for configuring and operating DTE. Four RS422 ports provide differential signals and support DTE operation. Each RS422 differential pair is terminated by a 150 Ω parallel resistor. The optional transition cable can be used to convert the front panel SCSI connector to (8) DB-9, D-sub connectors.

Supported by 16550 UART for each port, the data rate can reach up to 115 K baud. Mapping PCI interrupts to each (8) interrupt associated with each UART is accomplished through on-board programmable routing logic, allowing any UART interrupt to be routed to any PCI INTx request line. The default route after reset can route all interrupts to the INTA line.
